Tomato Seed Planting
Yesterday I planted my heritage tomato seeds that I bought from the Real Seeds Company, 22 rare varieties! I have never grown a tomato plant from seed before so I’m excited for this little project. I used compostable seed trays, filled with an organic soilless potting mix. Using a pencil I made two small holes in each pot, and placed one seed in each hole (2 seeds per pot). Then covered it up with a layer of the soil mix and gently compressed the top with my fingers. I labelled each row using a wooden lolly pop sticks (are they still called this 🤷♀️). Sprinkled water on top with my water spray, spraying is better than pouring water on them as they can get soggy easily and the seeds may rot. They’re now living happily (🤞) in the hottest room in the house (laundry room).
